When I have negative feelings, I don’t try to discard them. First, I try to identify them and understand where they are coming from. Then I try to counter them with positive feelings. Gratitude might be the best way to clear the negative feelings and accentuate the positive. As Anne Perry says, “Look for what is good and you will certainly find it.” It’s easy to get overwhelmed, and easy – especially in these times – to go dark, so it’s extra important to stop, collect yourself and remember there is so much to love. This helps you be good to yourself and to those around you.
