“I know where he is now,” Pat said confidently, just a minute before the remembrance service began at Columbus Evangelic Church.
We all do.
Wayne Harsha – a pilot, a preacher, a leader by example – made many believers out of non-believers in his 71 years. He was a man of peace who had the right words at the right time. He was a sounding board and he – as one of his Air Force commanders observed – provided those seeking with the inspiration to persevere.
Hearing his sons talk about him, his brother, his beloved wife Heidi and others eulogize him, there was no question his was a life well lived. I admire and respect him and look forward to meeting him in heaven.
As is said in Philippians, Wayne “produced the harvest of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ for the glory and praise of God.” It is through Wayne I am reminded of the goodness of God and the glory in an individual relationship with Christ. I may not have Wayne’s calling, but I can be a signpost and a better example of Christ’s love here on Earth.
